Choosing a Case Material

Nylon Dactyl Manuform.JPG

Nylon

Our best all-around option, with great durability and a matte textured surface finish.  Highly recommended for boards that will be transported frequently.  It is significantly less brittle and rigid than resin or PLA, which contributes to a deeper and "thockier" tone when typing.

Black Resin

Highly smooth finish, with most layer lines from the 3D printing process sanded away.  Resin is our most delicate material, and not as well suited for travel.  It is brittle and liable to chip if dropped or roughly handled.  Our black resin is finished with mineral oil to retain the dark black color, so when cleaning, it is recommended to just use a damp soft cloth, instead of soap or cleaners.

White Resin

Highly smooth finish, with most layer lines from the 3D printing process sanded away.  Resin is our most delicate material, and not as well suited for travel.  It is brittle and liable to chip if dropped or roughly handled.  While our white resin uses a UV-Resistant formulation, it can still yellow over time, especially if subject to direct sunlight.

PLA

Our most basic material is a black plastic containing a small amount of silver glitter to help mask the appearance of the layer lines from the 3D printing process.  It is tougher than resin but still more brittle than Nylon.
